Awesome “recollection” video of the world of FFXI. It makes me want to go back to the game. Maybe once I’m done with FFXIV Heavensward, I’ll cancel my sub and sub for FFXI. I’d probably buy the game again on Steam because I can’t be hassled in attempting to retrieve my account info for an earlier PC version I own. It was a long time ago.

If it wasn’t expected, next week’s Dragon Quest New Title Presentation will play host the announcement of the next main entry in the popular RPG series, according to an invitation sent to media.
Takashi Mochizuki, a reporter for the Wall Street Journal, reported on Twitter that the invite says Square Enix will announce “the first main Dragon Quest title in three years,” as well as details on various series-related titles. Mochizuki notes that there’s no information about platforms in the invitation.
The Dragon Quest New Title Presentation will be held on July 28. The Dragon Quest series has sold over 66 million copies worldwide.
Outside of 3ds games, I can’t think of the last time I bought a physical game…
Skyrim, maybe?
The Wii is stored away, maybe i’ll take it out or something. I still need to finish Twilight Princess anyway.
Regardless i can’t rightly pass on actually relevant Wii games.
Just finished reading this feature on upcoming 2015 RPGs. From their list, this would be my pick:
- Tales of Zestiria
- The Legends of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel
- Xenoblade Chronicles X
- Yo-Kai Watch
- Lost Dimension
- The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC
- Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon
- Yakuza 5
- Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold
- Cosmic Star Heroine
Still not 100% sure about those but I’ll probably end up interested in them too:
- Persona 5
- The Legend of Legacy
That’s a very healthy year for RPGs if they all end up coming in 2015.

Gematsu was able to unearth the Dragon Quest 11 logo on the official Dragon Quest site. The subtitle looks like it reads “過ぎ去りし時を求めて,” or “In Search of Departed Time.”
It’s going to be shown at tomorrow’s event. Hype!
That’s one small image to make anything out of it. Still, it’s making me excited too. It’s probably a PS4 game, right?

It’s probably a PS4 game, right?
[/quote]Either that or a cross-gen game together with PS3 and/or Vita.
So…not sure where to put this. I’m not sure if you guys remember this game:
It’s sol trigger. Imageepoch’ last JRPG released on the PSP as part of the RPG saviours. I tried the demo on the previous WYL forum, was impressed with the overall production values and quality but HATED the fanservice. Boobs bouncing after every battle victory, annoying voice of the little girl and know there will be a ‘sex scene’ in the last chapter to save the world nonsense plot. So I quickly dropped it despite having a good time with it. A while ago I saw it on ebay for 13 euros in nearly mint condition. I bought it and tested it a couple of days ago.
One of the the reasons why I wanted it besides the game being fun and cheap, is this: minor nostalgia for FFVIII fans. It’s not much, but I couldn’t help but getting reminded. Here are some examples.
The first picture feels very similar to the balcony with a nice view in FFVIII, or a mini version of the main hall of Balamb Garden. When you come closer you also get a close up view in Sol Trigger. In the third and fourth pictures you see that every character has a room similar to seed members in FFVIII. Every room looks a bit different to reflect the personalities of the characters. Although the main character is not negative about his friends the way Squall was, you also see him having dreams in his room or being uncertain about becoming a leader! In picture 6 you see how a party member is visible and follows the main character. This doesn’t appear to happen all the time like FFVIII but it happens in certain story related scenes.
I wish there were more games that tried to have that type of attention to detail to make the world and characters more lively. I’m actually pretty excited to play this game despite some issues I have witth it.
So if you haven’t seen this, i recommend it so heartily i can probably say i recommend it more than anything i’ve recommended thus far on this board. Basically the SU&SD team plays a MEGAGAME. That’s right, a MEGAGAME. A board game with literally dozens and dozens of people, probably more than a hundred of them! It’s amazing, something i really wish i could do one day, but as it is my only chance is to experience it in video.
I was planning on recommending this earlier (like months ago or something) but i forgot and only remembered it today.
If it makes you wish you had friends, i’m sorry.
