It’s awesome that Tales of Zestiria will not only be releasing here on its original platform PS3, but also PS4 and Steam. The PS4 and Steam releases will be out on October 20th. I’m getting the PS4 version.

WTF you can do that???

So let me get this straight. I can buy a game on the app store. And if the dev/publisher has a falling out with Apple, they can pull the game that I paid for from their store, I can no longer download it again, and that money is gone forever.

Fuck. You.

At least when EA broke away from Steam I still had access to the Mass Effect games I purchased!

iOS 9 is quite different from the previous few iOS releases. For many developers the update introduces a lot of new bugs. It will be difficult for publishers to fix the bugs if the development team has been disbanded or if they are busy with other projects. Someone also have to pay for the development costs and it is probably not profitable to fix bugs for games that were released years ago.

It’s a shitty situation, but I don’t know how to solve it.

They always reserve the right to pull their games down. Even Steam does iirc, even if they do acknowledge unofficially that they’ll keep the games available even is Steam itself dies.

How isn’t there a legacy mode of some kind?
