776 Xbox One units sold. Jesus, MS, pull the plug on Asia.
36k is surprising for AC in Japan. Too bad it had to be a buggy mess, more so than usual for an AC game.

The previous Assassinβs Creed games sold about 150k LTD in Japan. Most of the huge western franchises have decent sales numbers there.

The sales for the Etrian Odyssey 2 remake seem a bit on the low side. Perhaps people have gotten tired of getting a new game every year.

Microsofts aggressive pricing has paid off. I honestly feel that the initial pricing was what hurt MS more than anything else. Though we will see when the PS4 drops down to a similar price and if there is an edge to either one.
The customer demographics for holiday shopping is quite different from the rest of the year. I wonder if the pendulum will swing back in January or if Microsoft has a permanent market lead now.
Now that Sony has secured Street Fighter V as a permanent exclusive (and potentially extending to future updated SFV games since Sony is helping to fund the game), gamer influence is going to fall into their realm quite heavily. But weβre talking 2016 here. They should do aggressive console bundling with that game. I think itβll do extremely well.

Yeah, that bump is huge. Iβm guessing there was a price cut or a new color or something besides the release of GTA5.

I wonder if it would make better business sense for Japanese game developers to refocus console game development to North America and Europe first, and Japan second. Iβm referring to console RPGs especially, as thatβs the genre thatβs doubly difficult to catch the attention of Japanese consumers. When they continuously make these RPGs that are hardly selling enough units to call it a significant success, then I think itβs time to give up on Japanese consumers for console gaming. But many game developers probably wonβt do that. Their pride is at stake. Arguably, thereβs stronger fan interest for console RPGs in the west compared to Japan. I believe it was Tabata who commented that a lot is riding on Final Fantasy 15 to deliver success, and itβll ultimately determine the fate of Japanese console RPGs.
