I’m probably the only one here who has played Tharsis.

Also fuck these guys for doing best pre-order incentive.

#3

Tharsis looks really interesting. I might pick it up from the Steam holiday sale.

#4

At least they got one thing right

Is Pokemon the only new game I played this year? Where’s Civ on this list??

#5

DOOM is the only game there I’ve played.

Edit: Oh I’ve played the start of Uncharted 4.

#6

No Overwatch?

#7

No. Looks cool and stuff tho.

Tom Chick’s lists are usually fun and this year is no exception.

#10

Stellaris is still on my wishlist. Seeing it at the top of the “disappointing games” list is worrisome.

Oh jesus. Look, I get you’re playing a character. But DAPL protestors and BLM? I couldn’t finish the video.

FWIW I came back to edit this post a few minutes later because I just remembered something. The DAPL part is obviously satirical, but when you double down with “GROUP THAT HAS IT TOO EASY” and say BLM but w/o any of the previously biting satire? Not cool. Quit while you’re ahead and have some fucking care when you do shit like this. It’s shit like that where almost all you can say is Fucking White People.

Always interesting to hear what devs think.

Lot’s of love for Inside, Overwatch and DOOM in particular.

From one of the QTT articles above:

As an excuse, “it’s a JRPG” can only get you so far. Final Fantasy XV is well beyond that point with its grating characters, realtime cat-herding combat, and total lack of appreciation for what an open-world game should do. The best thing I can say about Final Fantasy XV is that it makes me appreciate all the more that the Xenoblade Chronicles games are a dazzling hybrid of JRPGs and open worlds.

This is spot-on. Square patched together a fragmented idea of a “modern AAA JRPG.”
