Hotel's are jamming personal Wi-Fi hotspots?!!

The petition stems from Marriott International’s agreement last month to settle an FCC investigation into a complaint that at least one of its hotels used communications-jamming technology to disable the personal Wi-Fi hotspots that many travelers tote with them. That forced people attending or hosting conferences at a Tennessee hotel to pay to use the hotel’s Wi-Fi network.

I hope this is banned, because that is bullshit. I fully understand being able to charge for your hotel’s Wi-Fi, but to actively block personal hotspots to force people to pay you to have internet access beyond your phone is beyond insane and intrusive. If this is allowed, what stops them from blocking cell phones themselves to force all internet access through their Wi-Fi?

Yep, that should definitely be illegal.
