Inti Creates and Sunsoft announce Blaster Master Zero for 3DS

At their 20th Anniversary Fan Festa event held in Ichikawa, Japan, Inti Creates announced that they will be releasing a new game titled Blaster Master Zero that will release on the Nintendo 3DS eshop in Spring 2017.

Inti Creates acquired the license to the original Blaster Master game released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1988 by Sunsoft, and began work on a new title for the series.

Using the original Blaster Master game as a base, Inti Creates is setting out to create a fully 8-bit experience in a way that both hearkens back to the golden age of the NES and uses the current generation hardware to optimize and power up the game for the players of today. This of course includes new areas and bosses, and new gameplay elements such as extra sub-weapons, improved gameplay when battling outside of your SOPHIA 3rd tank, a more robust scenario, refined and expanded exploration mechanics, and more.

It looks great. Surprising that Inti Creates got the licensing to the game and are developing it. It’s similar to how they developed 8-bit style Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10.
