Is Smash Bros U worth the hype?

I know there’s a boatload of content on it, but is it a game that can be enjoyed as a single player and multiplayer game?

I’ve heard the online infrastructure is pretty damn good, so playing online matches sounds great. If I get it, I’m going to use the Wii U Pro controller, instead of the darling that is the Gamecube controller adapter.

I feel like a lot of the vibe for this game was lost when the spoilers hit.

Also, I don’t have a lot of IRL friends I hang around playing games with anymore. I’ve always considered this the “party game” fighter.

I don’t know about the Wii U version, but I did play the 3DS demo. It’s not fun at all.

Yeah, same here, although my two nephews and step-nephew play games. My step-nephew has become a huge fan of Nintendo games, and he’s stoked about Smash Bros U. I’d probably play with him and his brother, and with online play, it makes it more convenient.

I would like to know this as well. The 3DS demo was okay, but it was clearly not the full experience in comparison to the console versions.

It looks like the wii u version is a good one, just haven’t had the time to read up about it. Nor will I take the time for it, like where to start? The OT on gaf is huge.
