Itās weird to think about it in terms of income, but Iām looking for about a monthās worthās for the engagement ring and wedding band.
Once I get my tax return and annual bonus in 2-3 months, basically going to just use that and buy the ring in cash, lol.

Every now and then I hear people claiming that āyouāre supposed to spend three salaries on an engagement ringā and it seems like a colossal waste of money that I would rather put towards a large house.

Yeah, like, Iāve already got a house. I donāt need to put myself into debt so my wife can have a bigger rock. Luckily sheās not the superficial type anyways.
I think a lot of that kind of old-fashioned shit will die with the people who perpetuated it.

My wife picked out her wedding ring. She wanted something with sapphire, but it took her months to find something she loved. The ring she picked was $79. Iāve offered several times to get her something more expensive if she finds something she likes. She refuses. She adores that ring.
