Ugh, man. PS4 is below 20k again. I guess it’s time to accept consoles aren’t really popular with Japanese gamers anymore.
We all know the answer to that. That title is a built-from-the-ground-up FFVII HD remake. If I were Sony, I would pump tens of millions of monies into that project, and work alongside Square-Enix in making that the best damn FF remake ever made. It is one of the few titles (of the games being exclusive to PlayStation on consoles) that has achieved accolades to the highest degree. When I think about some of the greatest games ever made in the late 90s, these come to mind: FFVII, Zelda OoT, and MGS. If we are talking about what will bring lots of people back to consoles, an FFVII HD remake is it. The key is, Sony must extend that offer to Square-Enix, and also help fund it.
Nah. I think there will be an up turn once Final Fantasy XV hits. I really doubt that Square would ever be willing to make an HD version of VII.

I don’t think Capcom will end up in Konami’s situation. They, at least, have Resident Evil, Street Fighter, and Monster Hunter, despite abandoning Mega Man and Breath of Fire.
I don’t know.
Resident Evil 6 wasn’t received well by critics or fans.
Street Fighter isn’t very popular and getting the company to fund it hasn’t been easy.
Monster Hunter is limited to a low-graphics platform and they keep reusing old assets for it. The latest release barely looks better than the old PS2 games. Moving it to the next generation could be difficult.
If Deep Down tanks, Devil May Cry underperforms and Dragon’s Dogma doesn’t take off as expected then I can see Capcom following Konami pretty soon.
