Destiny The Game

#1

I am really enjoying the game. I ended up playing from launch (12am PST) to 6am even though I had to be at work this morning.

Played almost all of the earth missions, same as the beta, but they were still enjoyable. The MP is good as ever and very satisfying.

Probably the most excited I’ve been about a game in a while. Part of it is that a lot of my friends on Xbox Live are playing it, so I will have a good player base to play with.

#2

I don’t have a console to play it on. Bummer.

#3

Destiny looks great on the Xbox One, though I am not sure how it compares to the PS4 version.

#4

I only had time to play the first two missions tonight. Are you using a headset chapel? I’m tempted to pick up one of the official Sony models.

#5

Yes, though it is a PC headset that I just plugged into the headset adapter for the Xbox One controller.

#6

That was my original plan. I have a headset with two 3.5 mm plugs and the socket on the PS4 controller is a single 2.5 mm if my eyes don’t deceive me.

#7

You are correct, for that I got a dual 3.5mm female to single 2.5mm mic male “joiner” from Monoprice.

#8

I’m a little bit worried about the headset draining the battery from the gamepad, but I suppose I should give it a try.

#9

Played a few hours with my brother and a friend the a couple more hours with Tokubetsu and friends. Had a few good games but sucked way too often.

#10

Woo! I got my first rare drops for completing the strike mission on the moon.

#11

I haven’t played since thursday. Excited to play some more. I am almost 20.

#12

I have a handful of story missions left to do. If I’m not too tired then I’ll go through them tonight.

#13

Well, I beat the story and it ended as poorly as it started. I suppose I should start grinding for gear with the Light attribute.

#14

I haven’t finished the story, but I am not playing it for the story.

I enjoy the gameplay, and with my group of friends it has been great. I don’t know about the longevity of the game, but it has already paid for itself in my satisfaction so far.

#15

I was hoping for a well designed end boss or some other type of climax. The Crucible is very fun and I could see myself doing strike missions every now and then.

#16

Played a “quick” strike with a friend. He then showed me a good farm spot on the moon for engrams.

Destiny hotfix doubles frequency of public events

Bungie has issued a hotfix for first-person shooter Destiny that doubles the frequency of public events.

Public events occur at scheduled times within the game world, and typically drop tough enemy encounters down for players to attempt to defeat within a time limit.

Players had complained that the public events did not occur often enough. This latest change should help make Patrol mode in particular feel more eventful.

Meanwhile, the hotfix addressed Xbox One bootflow issues, game crashes and improves stability.

In an update on Bungie.net, community chief David “Deej” Dague said: "Not every update that you apply to Destiny will contain revolutionary changes to the player experience.

“As we support the world of Destiny beyond the launch, much of what we do behind the scenes will be dedicated to ensuring the services that support the game are stable.”

That’s funny. During the beta I had a few public events fire but since launch only one. Totally forgot about them.

This is a welcome change.

I had three random events in the time it took me to reach level 20. The first one was incredibly challenging. Throughout the other two I was teamed up with over-leveled players and I got a gold medal without seconds.
