Grim Fandango Remastered is one of this month’s PS+ freebies. Thank god for Steam refunds. Now I can get my €2.99 back that I spent the other day.

I played with a gamepad and it took me 75% of the game to understand that there is a dedicated “grab” facebutton. It’s weird because if it’s something you can pick up, interacting will do but if it isn’t pressing triangle (i think) is the only way to get the “not grabbable” dialogue. Don’t make the same mistake i did!

so this is a thing i’ve been meaning to post, uh, a review of The Aesthetic of Play, because i can’t really post the book but the review is enough to make you think about what the book puts forwards, and i’ve been mulling it over for the last week or so
bscly the book makes an effort to remove play from being a specifically game oriented thing and makes it so all mediums are a kind of play, which makes it a lot easier to think of art in multidisciplinary ways, with especial benefit to vidja gaems
frankly i really like the framework it explores and it’s probably my favorite so far
