I dont really know if that statement is true, just talking out my ass per usual.
What are y'all playing? ver 2.0
Oh. Looks like iāve just reached the elven town after all. Nice. Isolationists too, as per the usual.
I restarted Shin Megami Tensei for the Nth time on my iPhone. With my commute I should be able to play it more regularly.
On my iPad, I started playing Final Fantasy: Record Keeper. All you do is jump around memorable scenes and unlock more characters/equipment/skills. Itās fast and it seems perfectly playable without in-app purchases. My current team (Arch, Wakka, Tidus, Cloud, and Kain) is so powerful that I can just have it on auto in the background while doing household chores.
Prison Architect is an awesome sim game. My last run ended with 7 deaths and 20 escaped convicts. I suppose hungry prisoners easily become upset.
I, too am now playing Pillars. Itās super good and normal difficulty is the perfect challenge, imo. Nothing has been able to make me give up, but thereās been a couple fights where Iāve had to try 6+ times. Great game.
Iām almost finished with it. Just going through the long dungeon they talked about in the kickstarter and finishing some quests here and there, then iām finally crossing the point of no return.
Itās weird. Iām also about to finish Majoraās Mask and Inquisition too. Kinda strange to finish all three games at the same time. Also, random curiosity, MM is the Zelda with the most bottles.
Iām really happy I know that now.
Right now I have to go get all the zora eggs, and I have to start over because Iām out of time, and Iām really wishing I had more bottles right about now. I have 3.
you can get one at the goron race, another at the romanji ranch, and another after killing the first dungeon boss by talking with koume to get another boat ride and beat her game
which should make you have four!
yay
'tis done
I should maybe note that PoE does some cool things with its gods towards the endgame that may or may not give it an interesting twist on its theology, not necessarily on the god side of things but on the believer side of things. It is, unfortunately, a very, very late twist that doesnāt give you nearly enough time to digest the significance of the truth you come upon after the point of no return. Also itās kind of surprising that iām finding a lot of parallels with DA Inquisition, which iām sure has to be some kind of crpg sin. The villains are actually very similar! Corypheus wants to become a god, Thaos wants to preserve the gods he created (his people? i like to think he came up with the plan), both moved by the realization that there are no real gods to be found. You talk with them, like, two times at most! You see Thaos in your visions of your own past, but those encounters are almost perfectly analogous to talking with Solas about who Corypheus is and whatās heās done in the past. They can both die and be reborn in another body, though through different means. They both control their followers through deceit and false promises of apotheosis. They are both very very old! Thaos still looks human though. Corypheus canāt have an easy time finding a comfortable place to sleep in.
Inquisition am finished as well. Aboutā¦ 70 hours i think? Unfortunately i wasnāt finished with a couple of companion quests, which are now unavailable. I also have a whole area to explore, so i still have much to do and enjoy. I really loved this game, and i absolutely cannot wait to see how Bioware iterates on the story threads left to be explored after this one. I enjoyed the post credits reveal and the overall story as well, though the last arc of the game left something to be desired. I hope they put more emphasis on late game narratives in the next game, Inquisition touched on a lot of things but left a lot unfinished or unresolved. I understand that that may be their way of maintaining their lore and general theme of Thedas being utterly unaware as to what really goes on around them, as well as their own history, but for once iād like to be sure about some stuff. Like, and most importantly, is there a Maker or not?? jesus fuck i know they wanted to explore that butā¦ for some stupid reason did not.
Well at least the next game is gonna wreck some shemlen butt. Also did i say that i hated being an elf in PoE? Like, i was a aedyrian elf and i found one, one instance in the whole game where that counted for something, and it was for absolutely nothing. What a disappointment that was. But in Inquisition? Nawt so hawt as elven lesbians. And culturally relevant.
Final Fantasy: Record Keeper is an endless grind. I doubt I will have time to beat the current events before they are removed, but at least Iām slowly getting stronger. Right now Iām stuck at a boss that can only be dealt ranged damage.
I figured out that my main problem in Prison Architect had to do with crowding. With the low starting budget 90% of the inmates will be in a pissy mood and if you force 50 of them to stay in the same holding cell, with only 8 beds, you will end up with frequent fistfights. There is a really neat planning tool and now Iām drafting up a blueprint covering the entire map before I start to build.
That was my experience as well.
When I was playing it (has been over 6 months now I believe), I found the planning tool and felt it was necessary for handling expansions in a timely manner. Otherwise you would end up in situations you couldnāt adapt to without demolishing things. Also face the risk of inmates escaping when doing large building.
Yeah, I forgot to mention that since it has been a long time. Though money still does become tight when doing a large prison.
I can imagine. At the moment Iām trying to get a small prison up and running before I attempt something more challenging.
I had time to try this monthās PS+ freebies today.
Tower of Guns is a procedurally generated rogue-like first-person shooter. There is a story, but I prioritized dodging bullets to reading the tiny text. The game itself is very straight-forward. Select a weapon and a perk and climb a tower filled with robots and turrets. You get stronger by collecting items and you can unlock new weapons or perks for your next run. Itās not a bad idea, but I wasnāt feeling it. Perhaps it would be more fun if I was controlling it with kb/m.
Never Alone is another artsy puzzle platformer. The setting is nice and it also comes with a nice mini documentary about Alaskan indigenous tribes.
I picked up Dragon Age: Inquisition on sale for Xbox One and so far have been enjoying it.
I like the various things you can do between the open world exploration and side missions, to the strategy (well light on actual strategy) overworld map mission, to of course the social aspects of dealing with your party members.
The unfortunate thing is that they feel disjointed at times. The game looks great for a console and plays well.
The art in Aaruās Awakening is charming. Jumping with L1 takes some time to get used to. The controls start feeling intuitive once you unlock the teleport ability, mapped to R1/R2ā¦ The levels are short and there is emphasis on finishing them as fast as possible and comparing the result with your friends.
Playing OG Deus Ex because of the announcement earlier this week and i done fucked up saving in the MJ12 facility without checking first how to save my brother.
fucktarts
Keeping up with the events in Final Fantasy: Record Keeper isnāt easy. I just managed to recruit Sephiroth before the Shinra Tower even ended and now Iām struggling to unlock Cecilās paladin form.
Iāve gotten pretty far into Shin Megami Tensei thanks to giving my main characters good stat distributions. Demons donāt level up in this game and they honestly donāt contribute much during the first 5 hours of the game. It has aged incredibly well.
