bridge builders are the kinds of games where it’s almost more fun when things don’t work out

Magic The Gathering: Puzzle Quest (iOS) is a pretty fun hybrid between the card game and a classic match-3 puzzle game. Match gems to collect mana and once you have enough you will cast a card. There are creatures, spells, and support cards and you’ll use them to defeat your opponent.

I’ll continue to play it during my commute and see how far I can get without spending any money on it.

I spent the past week playing Final Fantasy Record Keeper. At first I was just making fun of it because I got the rarest quality weapon on the first draw/gatcha they give you. It made all of the early fights so easy that I just pressed auto and let the game play itself.

It wasn’t until I got to the sandworm boss fight from V that I knew I liked this game. I spent $1 to try again (haven’t spent any money since) because I couldn’t wait to try again. The bosses are some of the most challenging content and there’s a lot of them.

The game itself is an extensive collection of Final Fantasy games. Each dungeon recaps the story of a small part of a specific game. You encounter the same enemies and the same bosses. The sprites from those games are the original sprites, everything else is redrawn in that style. The music, fortunately or unfortunately, is untouched. I haven’t played a lot of FF games so it’s been an education. Probably worth trying if you’re really into them.

I’ve been playing the Telltate GoT game. It’s a Telltale game that’s for sure. I don’t know if i like playing in so many different places and people. I have a hard time linking things together narratively and find myself having favouring certain storylines and caring little about others, which affects my story negatively.

I don’t know what to think of a game that’s so keen to put me in positions where my desire to act good takes precedence and then consistently punishes them. It’s very one sided and it doesn’t really explore anything enough to justify that severity.

tofu is bad 4 your health.

Outta no where, I decided to play Soul Calibur 5. I beat the story mode. Pretty good story for a fighting game. I unlocked all the characters, except for Algol, and one other person, I believe.

I’m also playing more Tales of Graces F. Oh, and started up Trails in the Sky SC!
