What are y'all playing? ver 2.0

#922

Have you played any of the Grandia’s yet?

#923

Overall it’s not a bad game. I’m mostly disappointed because it could have been so much better with only a few minor changes.

#924

I mean it’s pretty genius to have a dolphin man in charge of the sonar. Also, “Bring me the trigger for the Bart Missiles!!!” is such a great line.

Nop waiting for a steam sale tbh.

#925

Both Grandia and Grandia 2 are solid RPGs. I haven’t gotten around to the later ones yet.

#926

Play the first one first since you’re on a classic RPGs kick.

You dont need to finish Xenogears first :stuck_out_tongue:

#927

Hm? What later ones? AFAIK they made one and two and then everyone died. the end.
Those other games SUUUUUCCCCCKKKKKK
#928

Playing Batman Arkham Knight atm. Seems pretty cool for now.

#929

PC? How’s it behaving?

#930

uuuuhhhh, xenogears just made a direct reference to priests molesting children

yo

and billy just said that their judgement was better left to god than to the very members of their church!!

#931

Yeah pretty nice tbh. Although I am brute forcing it with a GTX980ti and g-sync monitor. Looks really quite pretty and the framerate is holding mostly in the 60 range too (this is with the Nvidia Gameworks stuff turned on as well).

#932

got my hyper light key

unlox at midnight

will prolly stream on twitch if yall care

my upload speed is pretty bad tho

#933

Finally reached the first Omnigear, hopefully things start moving a little quicker.

And of course i forget to save before one of the hardest bosses so far.

#934

Save states are awesome. Learn to love them.

#935

Yeah… i forgot to save state too

It’s just a ten minute scene but aaargh

#936

Frame skipping is also a great tool for Xenogears.

#937

Oh wow, i only now noticed that Citan has a readjust glasses animation.

#938

#939

Woah, first save point manufacturing plant i’ve ever seen.

#940

Oh yeah, reached the second disc. Straight from the get go a completely different thing, which was pretty impressive. And strangest of all, were it not for the obvious difference in gameplay and pacing shock, i would have a very positive impression of the new presentation. And the passion still comes in the littlest ways, like the very first scene which repeats from two perspectives. Obviously a very inexpensive thing to do, but still a fantastic way to increase the complexity of the scene in a way that feels authored and intentful rather than just serviceable.

Can’t help but love too how the ridiculousness and light hearted story still keep strong, i mean they used a damn flying battle ship as a shotgun that does 9999 damage. Can’t get much better than that.

#941

Wait until you reach the end. The text dialogue is excellent and the topics discussed are something to reflect on.
