iāve actually also been thinking of changing my gaf name, iām getting tired of kowalski but iām not sure how i should proceed with the change, in some ways i know that kowalski isnātā¦ real or anything but the reason why i want to change it is actually toā¦ post as someone else, plus i donāt know how well it would be received frankly

Someone told me that I look like the Train (itās a band) singer today. Kinda see it, but I definitely look like a younger Morrissey. Scarily so.

Names arenāt for you, theyāre for us. We use them to identify objects, people, etc. Thatās why theyāre names.

Not exclusively, they may be functionally about cataloging, but they play an important part on defining oneās identity. For example, transgenders, people who donāt want to have their fatherās name, immigrants who want a local name, those are some occasions where people are motivated by identity changes into changing their names.
Eh, thatās too much effort, and what i really wanted was to actually leave behind my current username, not just have another outlet. Iād like to change to Julia Crawford, been rolling with that char name for a while now, and itās really stuck with me. But i wonder if someone will take offense to outright changing the gender of the name.

Unless you have a really memorable tag you will be stuck with the old username below the new one. Starting over from scratch is the only way to completely rid yourself from your old self.

There are exceptions to every rule. Changing your name every other month isnāt one of them. Itās annoying as fuck, and unimaginable on GAF I bet. People already donāt know who you are.

In regards to changing your last name, I can relate to that. My last name isnāt my real last name. My great grandfather changed our last name before he went to another country. I believe the story goes that there was some sort of blood feud in the family, and he decided to change his last name, so he wouldnāt attract any unwanted attention.
My dad would like to change it, but my brother and uncle donāt want to. Iām all for it (of course I am, right? 
). Iāve never liked my current last name. Itās hard to pronounce. It isnāt like my real last name is that much better. I donāt particularly care for that either, but at least it looks like it can be pronounced.

Canāt you pick a completely new name that you like? A friend of mine did that before getting married because they couldnāt decide which name they wanted to use and they werenāt that fond of either of the two alternatives.

If I were to do that, my entire family would be very unhappy with me. I wouldnāt want to do that anyway. Itās one thing creating a made up name on the internet, and another using it as your real identity in real life. The whole point of using my real last name again would be to bring it back to the family tree, if you will.

I got flicked off by some kid at my school parking lot because I drove forward into a parking lot aisle without looking to my right, and I own up to that. I neglected to look to my right. Since it was a direction where there were no cars parked on that side of the lot, I figured there wouldnāt be a car coming. He started honking his horn repeatedly, then he took out his arm and gave me the middle finger. He held it there for 10 seconds as he drove away. Really? Was that necessary? What an asshole.
