Are you enjoying it? I thought it was quite basic and I honestly don’t understand the praise it has received.
What are y'all playing? ver 2.0
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag - I beat it. The final area wasn’t as climatic as ACIII, but the overall adventure was fun. I spent a fuck ton of time exploring islands, and I really don’t want another AC like this. Ship sailing and battling gets repetitive quickly. I didn’t know Edward had a daughter, but he had her with the first girl he was with, and Haytham was conceived with a second girl. Interesting when his daughter said that she didn’t want to be called by her father’s last name, Kenway, but her mother’s surname. It’s too bad they didn’t explain how Haytham joined the Templars and inevitably became a Grand Master. Apparently, Edward becomes the leader of the assassin brotherhood in England, but that’s also not explained in ACIV. I wonder where that information came from. I read it from a wiki site.
Knack - Started playing it tonight. I’m on chapter 3. It’s good platformer fun. You can die easily, even on normal. Considering Cerny worked on it, it’s no wonder it’s tough. Crash Bandicoot games were much of the same way.
I have to say, i’m actually very impressed by Assassin’s Creed Unity. It’s unfortunate that the IP is locked into open worlds, i would love to see them do something that would do away with the open world and instead focus on strongly designed small sections, because that’s clearly something they’re very good at. The voice acting is really stupendous, probably some of the best i’ve ever seen in a game considering its scope and size, and the art is beyond
Yeah, AC Unity and Rogue are next on my radar, but I’m going to wait a while longer and see how much cheaper they’ll get, in light of the Ubisoft dilemma with those games. Unity dropped to $30, and Rogue is $40, although unlike Unity, Rogue is actually a playable game, and has an interesting premise where you hunt down assassins, playing as a former-assassin-turned-Templar. Throughout Rogue, you have to be aware of your surroundings because assassins are constantly targeting you. That’s pretty cool.
But still, that Unity price drop. Lol.
Don’t worry. An Ubisoft game bug will sneak up on you like an assassin. In Black Flag, the Mayan Suit doesn’t have a hood, but Edward still does the motion of putting a hood over his head!
I really enjoyed it - the first play through is a little haphazard as you figure out how the varied economy works. It’s a short experience, three playthroughs = about 2 and a half hours, but a great one.
So i’m trying out the ffxiv trial on the ps4 and it’s very fun so far! I’m playing a cat lady archer, and aside from how fucking lewd the starting gear is i really like the look of the character. Everything’s christmasy too!
I killed three squirrels today.
Can’t wait for Don’t Starve Together! Waiting for it to come out of early-access.
I picked up Desert Golfing after seeing it in some GOTY lists. It’s an extremely basic game with pretty good core mechanics. Unfortunately there isn’t much to it. Levels are randomly generated although not very varied. Most holes can easily be finished in one or two shots. Occasionally you run into an interesting situation that will require some finesse.
I’ve played it a bit after Idle Thumbs waxing poetic about it.
I like the core gameplay but as you said, there isn’t much to it.
No I believe the Dev has made other games that people have enjoyed and some of the press play less popular but niche games like this.
Bought myself Bravely Default as a christmas gift, it’s pretty fun! The braving/defaulting system works so intuitively that i’m surprised i haven’t seen it in a game before. I’m expecting the story to be sort of like Ring of Fates, you know, very simple premiss that gets twisted in a fun way towards the end.
The battle fanfare is a lot of fun too!
Shiva i think. Or maybe that’s my deity… not sure.
Yeah, Bravely Default is fun. I’m heading to the fire crystal next. I like building your town.
Aw. We can’t play then. I’m on Ultros.
