What are y'all playing? ver 2.0

#802

Shadow Complex took me four and a half hours. Transistor is also fairly short. I enjoyed both.

#803

Cool, Iā€™m looking for short games atm, before XCOM 2 comes out.

#804

Is it out soon? Iā€™m on a media blackout. Maybe I should pre-order it from Green Man Gaming while I still have a coupon.

#805

5 February 2016 my good man. Cannot fucking wait.

#806

Thatā€™s soon. Where are you buying your copy from? Are you getting the season pass, or whatever the Reinforcement Pack is?

#807

Good question, I need to look around. Might find a semi-illicit key seller.

#808

Any of you fine people going to get Dragonā€™s Dogma?

#809

Iā€™m waiting for it to be really cheap since I already have two versions of it (both were PS+ freebies I believe). Increasing the resolution and frame rate will make it a much more enjoyable experience.

#810

I decided to grab XCOM 2: Digital Deluxe for Ā£36 from GMG.

#811

My man.

#812

Yeah, also waiting for a sale. The only thing i havenā€™t finished yet is the DLC content which was pretty fantastic but iā€™m not as of yet prepared to undertake the many dozens of hours that it would take me properly leveled. But for cheap iā€™ll bite regardless.

#813

I didnā€™t play the original. What did you like about it?

#814

For a very long while every trip you make out into the wilderness is a journey. You have to know what roads to follow, what areas to avoid, and you have to do it before nightfall. These activities were quotidian, yet grandiose as well. Even long after youā€™ve overgrown beyond the fodder that makes up the roads youā€™re comfortable with, there will still be places you wonā€™t dare to cross. Thereā€™s also that very strong sense that youā€™re about to discover some unholy demon from the depths when you go underground, kind of like LOTR. Like as if in some way there is a whole world of ancient evils bubbling just beneath the surface. I really liked that. Actually DD is very much inspired by LOTR now that i think about it. Itā€™s that same sense of ā€œif someone left these dungeons, it probably was because they found something unspeakably horrifyingā€.

The Magic Archer class is also probably my favorite class ever, itā€™s super fun if less spectacular than some. That light arrow that illuminates the surroundings is one of its abilities and itā€™s one of the most useful in the game. IIRC it shared a lot of devs with the DMC3 team, so thatā€™s about the level of quality combat you should expect.

And the story. I admit i liked the story and lore, even the small time quests dealing with the city folk were cool.

#815

Sold. I heard the combat is pretty great.

Just need to find time to play it.

#816

Bit heavy on the DoF but itā€™s getting there.

#817

At Chapter 9 in Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC. The final chapter. Thanks to a tip from someone, enemies called shining poms who give you 9999 exp, could be found in the tunnels of Aureole. Iā€™ve been exploiting that, and most of my characters have reached level 93-94. Iā€™m going to bring everyone to around those levels, then resume traversing the Axis Pillar. I have already beaten Bleublanc. Iā€™m moving on to the third floor.

My total play time is 80 hours. Itā€™s been a great journey, but the end is near.

#818

Lifeline (iOS, currently free) is very well written and reminds me a lot of The Martian (that Iā€™m currently reading). You help a stranger that has crash landed on a moon by writing simple short messages. It is played in real-time and feels very much like chatting with a real person. You canā€™t interact with the stranded stranger if he is busy doing something.

#819

man android never gets free games

#820

Started Shadow Complex. Pretty decent.

#821

Itā€™s on Android, just not free at the moment.

I may check it out, since itā€™s a pretty low impact game.
